Pisonia brunonnianum Parapara

A small tree or shrub reaching 10m. Leaves 10-40cm long, glossy green.

Sticky fruits 3-5 cm long that may trap small birds and insects

Three Kings to East Cape.
The seeds are 2-3 cm long, oblong and encased in a very sticky substance. You can pick out the seeds from the sticky jelly and sow straight away. They germinate readily.
A very attractive shrub that should be more common in ornamental gardens.
