Laurelia novae-zelandiae Pukatea

May 31st 2005

Laurelia novae-zelandiae          Pukatea

A tall tree of swamps and damp places. The seed of this species is dispersed by the wind and can be difficult to collect once a suitable tree is sourced. The tree can be tall and beyond climbing or reaching with a ladder. I have gathered some seed at the base of the tree. The seed is classed as recalcitrant; so keep moist when sown.
