Hi
Kia ora and hello again.
Daylight savings announces the beginning of summer time. More time in the garden, long evenings and BBQ's. Its time to start planning for those summer holidays.

This month's photos: Ferns
New Zealand's ferns evoke a luxuriant texture to the forests. The ground ferns occupy a niche which in many countries is occupied by grasses and annual plants. A wide spread of latitude, a mild climate and an abundance of rain combine to make  the forest a haven for ferns, only surpassed in the tropics. While most ferns enjoy a moist and shady situation, many ferns can be found on sun baked rock or dry clay or shingle soil. A rich heritage exists around our ferns. The Ponga or tree ferns, in particular silver fern Cyathea dealbata, is our most widely known icon. However many other ferns are special to New Zealanders.

Whangaroa Houseboat Holidays
Whangaroa Houseboat Holidays offer a unique escape, far from the "madding crowd", in beautiful Whangaroa Harbour - the perfect environment for the relaxed holiday getaway that house boating provides.
Whangaroa scenery is awe-inspiring, with towering sheer bluffs and volcanic rock formations protruding through steep forested shores, its colours reflected in tranquil water. Whangaroa remains an unspoiled natural resource, ideal for rest and relaxation. Sit back in the lounge and enjoy the view, or fish, dive and swim from your doorstep! Cook your catch on the barbecue or use the spacious kitchen. Go ashore and spend some time exploring, then row back to your home on the water.
